Great for fabricators that require high volumes of tube production
The Right Solution for My Shop?
In the world of fabrication there is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ equipment. Each machine has an ideal application, and for each Fabricator there is an ideal machine. It's easy to see why a fabricator would be intrigued by the ability to process all items on one machine, when it comes to plasma there are things to consider before knowing that it is the ideal solution for your shop's production, now and into the future.
The Ring of Fire is ideally suited in three types of facilities:
Fabricators with existing equipment in place
Manufacturers that deal with a wide variety of unique production requirements
Fabricators that require high volumes of tube production

Fabricators with Existing Equipment in Place
How do you balance your shop flow? There is a floating bottleneck in every fabrication shop which is not attributed to lack of automation, but the unpredictability of incoming projects. Experienced every day, certain machines are inundated with work while others maintain a sense of normalcy. For shops that experience this "roving bottleneck" the Ring of Fire is the perfect solution to supplement existing equipment.
Is your drilling machine overloaded? Send floor beams and miscellaneous sections to the Ring of Fire to expedite production
Is there not enough miter cutting to justify the cost of a miter saw? The Ring of Fire can cut to length, and miter cut any section with ease.
Do you want to achieve 4-Axis layout marking? The Ring of Fire can perform layout on all 4 sides of a profile, eliminating the need for additional mechanisms for drill lines, or a standalone option that cannot perform other processes.
Do you need clip angles but don't need an angle line? The Ring of Fire is ideal for all angle components, from angle bracing to clips, it can cope, notch, and place holes!
How do you balance the continually changing demands on your shop floor? How can you stay prepared for any job that comes your way, without overinvesting in equipment that may sit idle, or prove profitable only on specialty jobs? The Ring of Fire solves these challenges.

Regulations
Plasma technology and its generation of bolt holes is becoming more, and more common
What are the Regulations for Plasma Copers?
Plasma technology and its generation of bolt holes is becoming more, and more common. Depending on the project, or the opinion of governing bodies / project engineers, thermally generated holes may or may not be accepted. It is important to verify that projects you will be pursuing, and the engineers you are working with deem the plasma cut holes acceptable.
Plasma Coper
A plasma coper easily eleviates additional material handling, and can do far more than just create holes as coping and cutting are also achieved on a single machine
Is Plasma Better Than Traditional Drilling / Sawing / Punching?
A plasma coper easily alleviates additional material handling, and can do far more than just create holes as coping and cutting are also achieved on a single machine. A wide array of parts can be processed - from clip angles to columns in a single pass, with no changing of fixtures, and no additional software patches or upgrades. Does this make plasma cutting better than traditional drilling and sawing?
Benefits Plasma Offers Over Drilling

Minimized Material Handling
Cutting, coping, and hole creation all on a single machine
No need to change tooling from hole size to hole size
Required footprint for a single thermal fabricator is inherently much smaller than an entire production system
1 operator can perform an array of operations with ease
Benefits Traditional Processes Offer Over Plasma
Benefits Traditional Processes Offer Over Plasma
Benefits Traditional Processes Offer Over Plasma
No limitations on hole diameter in relation to material thickness
No "dross" or "slag" to chip or remove from material post production
Holes are accepted in all applications - even fracture critical situations
Traditional beam lines are capable of processing 3 surfaces simultaneously
In a full system, the beam line drills holes as the angle line, band saw, and other machines also perform their processes - greatly increasing production
Cost per hole is considerably less when utilities are concerned, time required to process is faster which further reduces the costs associated with hole creation on a traditional drill line

Parts Tracking Utility (PTU)
The parts tracking utility is a program created for monitoring production of material on Peddinghaus machines using Siemens controls.
This program is not immediately visible to the machine operator and works in the background of the CNC control.
This program creates an output file at a desired location that displays vital information about part production. By monitoring specific internal machine communications, the program will document the use of your machine. This can include an array of items, ranging from the number of holes punched or drilled to the amount of time the operator paused the machine.
Benefits of the PTU
Automatic documentation of production
Ability to view progress remotely
Ability to monitor employee productivity
Elimination of human error in the production monitoring process
Program Requirements
Peddimat version 1.09.07 must be installed on the machine, for the production control to work. This is because the header of the part file that is run on Peddimat version 1.09.07 has to be in a specific order. The machine must have a Siemens 840 Di or newer control.
