High Performance Turbines
Utilizing manganese housing, the Peddiblasts’ robust turbines will stand the test of time. This high tensile strength steel is resistant to wear which reduces maintenance costs. By providing fully customizable turbine options, Peddinghaus offers a flexible solution that caters to the production throughput requirements of any shop.
 Single Disc Design
The single disc increases abrasive flow and reduces the energy and consumable cost by approximately 25%. Single Disc Design The Peddiblast turbines are designed with productivity in mind utilizing a state of the art single disc turbine. As an alternative to a double disc, the single disc increases abrasive flow and reduces the energy and consumable cost by approximately 25%.
 Multiple Turbine Strengths
Multiple Turbine Strengths The Peddiblast system is configurable to fit each fab shops individual needs. With multiple turbine power options, blasting speeds can be customized for both the largest and smallest fab shops. Along with power, each system can be configured by the amount of turbines desired for throughput needs.
 Abrasive Shell Valves
The position of the valve assists in reducing the wear of the machine housing. Abrasive Shell Valves Each turbine on the Peddiblast is equipped with its own shell valve system allowing for a precise flow of abrasive to each turbine. The position of the valve assists in reducing the wear of the machine housing. The Barrier Switch measures the material length and stops the abrasive flow when then trailing end of the machine has passed thus reducing wear within the machine. These valves are adjustable allowing the correct amount of abrasive to flow to the turbine achieving optimum performance.
Roller Bearings
The Peddiblasts’ Roller Bearings are housed outside of the operating area safely away from abrasive.
Roller Bearing Seals
The Peddiblasts’ Roller Bearings are housed outside of the operating area safely away from abrasive. To further reinforce the bearings, Peddinghaus utilizes an innovative Labyrinth Seal which is positioned between the bearing and the housing of the blast chamber. If the area around the Labyrinth Seal were to wear, the gap between the bearing and the seal will protect the bearing from any potential wear from abrasive.
Abrasive Reclamation
1 Screw Conveyer, 1 Bucket Elevator, and 1 Abrasive Separator Unit
Abrasive Reclamation System
Components of the Peddiblast Abrasive Reclamation System Include:
- 1- Screw Conveyor – to convey shot swarf from the blasting chamber to the bucket elevator unit
- 1- Bucket Elevator Unit – to transport abrasive from the conveyor to the abrasive separator unit
- 1- Abrasive Separator Unit – to eliminate the impurities from the abrasive for re-circulation within the blast cleaning system
Abrasive Containment
Included within this system are light sensors in combination with a barrier switch, an abrasive brush, a blow off system, and rubber curtains.
Abrasive Containment System
The Peddiblast is equipped with a comprehensive abrasive containment system. Included within this system are light sensors in combination with a barrier switch, an abrasive brush, a blow off system, and rubber curtains.
 Light Sensors
When material enters the unit, the vertical light sensors automatically communicate to the machine the height of the profile(s)/plate(s). Light Sensors When material enters the unit, the vertical light sensors automatically communicate to the machine the height of the profile(s)/plate(s). With this information, the Peddiblast adjusts component heights accordingly to ensure an effective blast and clean process is achieved.
 Barrier Switch
Barrier Switch As material enters the unit, a barrier switch is also triggered which tracks the length of the part. By tracking the part as it navigates through the machine, the turbines start and stop automatically. Utilizing barrier switch technology, less abrasive is wasted and blasting does not occur without profiles present, resulting in less wear on the machine housing and lining.
 Abrasive Brush
Located at the exit of the machine, the rotary brush unit is designed to remove remnant abrasive from profiles. Abrasive Brush Located at the exit of the machine, the rotary brush unit is designed to remove remnant abrasive from profiles. Abrasive removed by the brush component is returned into the machines’ abrasive circuit for re-use.
 Blow Off System
This unit is designed to remove any abrasive and dust that has not been previously removed by the roller brush. Blow Off System The blow off unit is located after the abrasive brush at the end of the machine. This unit is designed to remove any abrasive and dust that has not been previously removed by the roller brush. The blow off system also ensures all abrasive swept off by the abrasive brush is directed toward the screw conveyer for re-circulation.
 Rubber Curtains
Rubber curtains are positioned at the entry and exit of the Peddiblast. Rubber Curtains Rubber curtains are positioned at the entry and exit of the Peddiblast. Positioned on slides, the rubber curtains are easy to remove for maintenance purposes. The rubber curtains prevent abrasive from exiting the operating area of the machine, keeping the surrounding areas clean and blasting consumables within the blast chamber.
Blast Chamber
The operating area of the Peddiblast system, made up of manganese steel, has a robust design built to withstand the rigors of the shot blasting process.
Blast Chamber
The operating area of the Peddiblast system, made up of manganese steel, has a robust design built to withstand the rigors of the shot blasting process. Formed by a series of welded fabrications and then assembled as a bolted construction, the Peddiblasts’ assembly offers a long and trouble free life.
 Manganese Steel
Manganese Steel The entire blast chamber is manufactured from 6-8 mm (1/4”) thick X 120 Mn12 pre-stressed manganese steel and 10 mm (1/2”) thick lining. This type of steel can withstand potential damage from the blast stream and will work harden to provide further defense as the machine is in operation.
Filters
These filters are necessary to remove any impurities from the air used to blast resulting in a more even, direct, and effective blast.
Filter Cartridges
Each Peddiblast machine is equipped with multiple conical shaped cartridge filters. These filters are necessary to remove any impurities from the air used to blast resulting in a more even, direct, and effective blast.
Benefits experienced with the Peddiblasts’ conical cartridge filters:
- Easy exchange of cartridge filters
- Correct contact pressure
- Low compressed air consumption
- Integrated drop out box
- Constant cleaning, from top to bottom, due to conical design of the cartridge filter
- Pressure difference is monitored to automatically set the cleaning cycle increasing the life time of the cartridge and saves compressed air
- Large distance between folds in each cartridge filter leads to precise cleaning and better air pressure
